Last night Bubby went out for the first time in a very long time. I am trying to be supportive of our candidates running in November. Before I give anyone my vote, they will have to earn it. The question would be, does anyone really care? I am only one woman, with one vote. To be honest so far there is no one that has grabbed me yet and made me a believer. I am still on the sideline watching and holding on tight, with freedom does come my right to choose. That is why I just love my country, it is free, exciting and always full of possibilities.
I have had a really rough year, my country had it rougher. If I can help myself and my country at the same time, this just seems like a perfect plan. I always love when a plan comes together! What motivates me is just wanting to live on, sheer survival which is an instinct, think of Bubby as you might think of Rambo. I have been put in a corner, life had my back to the wall, I am about to emerge again and use all my knowledge and passion to see that my candidates win. This reminds me of color war at camp, I just loved camp!
I will let you all know who and when I endorse, the way I see it, they all need help! So, may the best candidate have the good sense, to consider having Bubby stand beside them. I am willing and able to help see them that "WIN". I will let you know who grabs my hand, draws me in and truly makes me a fan. If they can get me to believe and gain my trust, they have a fighting chance.

Bubby is Just Warming Up!
Bubby is a 64 year old baby boomer who has a lot to say. There are just so many issues at this time in our wonderful country, which should be dealt with pertaining to and about how this country is or isn't doing. What Bubby feels needs to happen sooner verses later is take action with the easy ones and clear them out of the path of real progress. In this moment in time to improve the general bad behavior and poor condition of the financial, health care and social activities in this country seems imperative.
I truly believe if my generation would work and think together, we definitely could encourage our children and theirs to follow. As good American citizens we could try to re-establish some of the basic traditions of family we were taught growing up. Bring back some of the basic respect and regard we once held for one another. Go back and remember life in Philadelphia fifty years ago, keeping all the progress that has improved and enriched our lives. This could once again be a stronger and better balanced nation. The citizens of the United States of America must work together and create order with our new President, he needs our help.
When I was just a little girl both of my Bubby's had pictures of the President of the United States of America hanging in the house. I was raised to appreciate and hold with extraordinary pride the fact that I was born in the country. My Bubby's were not and they always told me what a lucky girl I was to be an American and I always agreed. We live in a place where anything is possible, where freedom truly rings. I love my country and hold respect for my President. I do not have to think he is right everyday, but, he is and was elected by the people and because of that fact he deserves our respect.
I am very disappointed by anyone who just arbitrarily shoots down a proposed idea due to a party affiliation. When we elect a Congressman or a Senator, yes I know they run on a party ticket but once elected they have a job to represent all the people. You don't have to agree with all the people and yes our elected officials have a job to do, but, it is really not about just what they want it is more about what we need them to do. Being arbitrary and ignorant by just saying "no" because of a party line is not and does not serve the people being represented. This behavior offends me, that is why I am looking for candidates Bubby can believe in. I have simple and direct questions to ask, all I want is the same type of answer.
I am getting my ducks lined up, stay tuned things could get very interesting. Bubby has been quiet for a long time now. My active days as Bubby 4 Obama are just about to start!

DON'T SCARE MY MOTHER !
My mother is eighty-seven years old, living in a lovely retirement community outside of Philadelphia. How dare these crazy outlandish stupid people who are running around this country disrupting town hall meetings, scare her with a bunch of propaganda bullshit! Health care Reform is necessary and a most reasonable way to help the American people, deal with a situation which is completely out of control. Thirty years ago or more when my parents had their wills drawn we included, advance directives and living wills. Most intelligent people have been doing this for years now.
Personally, I have been in and out of hospitals for basic tests and procedures both minor and major in the last twenty years. They don't let you past registration, without signing off on an advance directive, in case there is some unexpected problem that might present while you are there. Morons, we are dealing with running wild, being pumped up with false and stupid misinformation about health care reform. Old and young are being confused and frightened by all of this unnecessary crap, being put out into the media world.
I truly believe our President is trying his best to lead this country in the right direction. The Congress and Senate should support the President and bring this country forward. We elect our officials, some of us are republicans, democrats, even independents. Once our representative is elected, I believe they have an obligation to represent all of their constituents, not just the ones of their party.
Ego and personal ambition should be put aside and the good of the community they represent should come first and foremost. If they are not doing that, they are not doing the job they were elected for.
When President Obama stood in front of the people of this country and took the oath of office, he promised to care about all people. He never said, if you voted for me, what he said was if you did or didn't vote for me. He is trying very hard to live to his word, the old politicians are out of line and out of focus as to what is best for the general public. I have health care and it costs me over $1500.00 a month, by the time I pay my co-pays, buy medication and pay insurance premiums and at this moment I am well. Three years ago my life partner and business partner was diagnosed with lung cancer. This created a domino effect of events which have taken me from being an upper middle class homeowner to a woman about to declare bankruptcy, my home is in foreclosure and I have lost my business.
I have many feelings, some very strong about health care reform in this country. Our President is correct, we had better all get behind him and silence these self indulgent, small minded bad politicians. There is no room anymore for self serving egotistical pompas assholes in government. We NEED CHANGE, that is what I voted for and that is what my President and his team are trying to offer.
Get rid of the spoilers!!

MY CIRCLE OF LIFE
I am a very happy and peaceful person. I am patient, pleasant and sometimes just plain sweet. I find being kind or nice is very easy and I always enjoy the look of surprise on people’s faces when you just act respectfully towards them. This has become a very aggressive world, sad for us who like peace, kindness and tranquility.
Throughout my life I have always managed to find something to cherish in my day: a moment, a sound, a smell, possibly just a passing thought. But I was raised to always see my glass more than half full and it always was. I was born with sheer magic in my soul and it has survived many disappointments in my lifetime. I can honestly tell you I have never and I mean not even have I ever come close, to meeting anyone else like me.

But I was raised to always see my glass more than half full and it always was. I was born with sheer magic in my soul and it has survived many disappointments in my lifetime. I can honestly tell you I have never and I mean not even have I ever come close, to meeting anyone else like me.
My life took me down a path, rather than me going down a path I made. Luckily time has not run out on me yet. To put it mildly, my life as I knew it ended, I fell into a bottomless pit, of one incredible event after another. I went from married, living in my dream house on the mainline of Philadelphia, Mercedes in the driveway and all, to filing bankruptcy, a house in foreclosure, no husband, no more car and a great deal of debt. I managed to have my wonderful life turned upside down in just a matter of a few extremely difficult years. Even the best of plans can go off track. The how or why my world became a giant black whole, is not as important to me as what I am planning to do about it. First thing I did was empty my world. I took a time out to think this all through and the best and easiest idea I came up with was just start over. Now that is why I am going to start my life all over again. I am now on my first and last path to my “Best Life”.
I have called this particular piece my "Circle of life" and that is because I have completed one full life already. When I say that the point I am trying to make is that except for tying me to a stake and setting me ablaze, I don’t imagine there is much else left that the world can do to one little old woman. Life has certainly been an adventure and it has taught me many lessons - mostly the behavior of people, something I have observed closely for many years.
My mother and I have always been very close, more so than any of my friends were with theirs. My mom was and is my best friend, along with my best friends. My friends and I could always count on having as much fun or sometimes even more when she was with us, it also worked the other way. I was very close to my mother's friends and enjoyed them always. I found my mother and her friends had an endless array of information and they were always willing to share. These were smart, educated, successful or their husbands were, with it girls. We had great times together. Spanning two generations and explaining to each other the need for change and acceptance of new issues and lifestyles. Amazing women. Unusual and unique that a mother and daughter should spend that much time and have that much fun together. Do you know why we always did? Trust. We always trusted each other and we understood what tragedies we had both suffered in life and yet never lost sight of or forgot to always remember the joy and fun also.
Balance in life is important; something many of our politicians seem to lack. They are either far left, far right or they sway with the crowd because the are cowards. Enough of this crap! Grow up and take responsibility for your decisions. Stop worrying about the next election, think about doing the job you were elected to do, or you won't have to run in the next election. I am not using names, they all know who they are and so do the voters.
Besides all the normal pain and suffering people experience in the course of a life, we managed to include and experience many of the traumas that happen to all the other people. We shared many of those family crises or events that one after another are supposed to happen in all the other families, not your own. Teenage pregnancy, rape, suicide, extraordinary illnesses, divorce, just to mention a few issues that are close to my heart and visited my home.
On February 1, 2009 my life as I knew it ended. This happened very unexpectedly at 4:20 pm. I never did see the Super Bowl. In my lifetime I always felt that one day I would understand the reason why my life was on a very different course than everyone else I knew. I truly believe I have finally been blessed with my answer. I have been chosen to help deliver some questions or even answers which the country and possibly the world might need to hear.
Do you feel bad for me? Don’t. I am used to starting over. On September 26, 1996 my life as I knew it and was living it ended. This also happened very unexpectedly at about 10:45am.
The list just keeps going!
EACH TIME I JUST START OVER AGAIN
~ I HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES! ~
ONE OF THE REASONS I AM AN UNOFFICIAL AUTHORITY ON LIFE !
WILL IT MATTER LATER ?
Some issues will and some won’t. How does Bubby know, she has been there! First hand life experience is a marvelous perimeter for making a judgment call as to what really matters. I have lots of life behind me and maybe much more still to come, but, for now I have many things I just believe are very wrong. So I started this site to tell the world “enough is enough”. We don’t have time to waste the country’s money on things that I know at some point sooner then later, just won’t matter at all.
Abortion and Gay Rights
These are just two of the issues for which I have the greatest interest and concern.
In my opinion, which is what you will always get, these are two issues of extreme importance to me, on a very personal level. I have many, I will start with these.

But,
Bubby can Multi-task
So Watch Out !!!
There are just so many issues in the news today that really get on my last nerve. I am starting to wonder what these people are thinking. What or where have they been, someplace I haven’t apparently. I admit that I have had an extremely unusual life and I do have possibly a different view of the state of things, but, have we lost all good old fashioned common sense?
Bubby is a “Patriot”
A Loyal Flag Waving Good Citizen
I Love My Country
Bubby can be compelling, unique, and multifaceted and talks about the day's events with passion, humor and sarcasm. She expounds on spirituality, family values, and politics.
I have always been a proud supporter of my country and its way of life.
“Now I Have Questions”
I would hope to have many join me in conversation and help me understand: what the hell are our elected officials and many of our country’s citizens think they are doing and talking about?

LESS IS MORE
Today is the beginning of a new work week but our President brings into it all that he started when he took his oath of office and many other issues that have surfaced since. He is smart, calm and I truly believe his heart and mind are in the right place. As I see things, it is the job of the American people to get behind our elected President and support his efforts.
America is in trouble; that is something I never thought I would say. I am not a political person or maybe I should say I wasn’t. I have no real background in politics, just lived a great deal of life. I am sixty- three, born after the Second World War; I suppose you would call me a baby boomer. The difference between me and many others is the way I lived my life. Therefore, my view and my perspective are somewhat different than most.
The one thing I have always been is a good American. I am a good citizen. I am proud of my country and I have always loved being born and raised in America. I wish we could turn the clock back on some of the things that have happened with the passing of time and recover the innocence we once had as a country. An example of that would be the respect we once held for our elected officials and each other. Where has it all gone? Where have many of the simple things that made this country great gone? Why are things so very different than they once were? The internet, television, movie stars, drugs, politicians... What is it that now seems different in America? Gone from everyday life for so many and where did it all go? No where; that is the answer. Everything is still right here. I am just not sure we are utilizing all our resources, remembering some of the most basic and important factors as to why so many wanted to live in America and still do. We as a country were a beacon of civilized behavior but are we still holding ourselves to that standard? Are we living and teaching to the best of our abilities or are some of us expecting someone else will do it for us?
I was raised in Philadelphia, a big city with a small town spirit. Quite a wonderful place, loaded with history and wonderful sights. Philadelphia is truly the birthplace and hub of American freedom. I wonder as our children run wild in the streets, selling drugs, shooting guns, randomly killing, destroying neighborhoods that were once peaceful, what are they thinking? What do you think they are trying to accomplish? Do they have a goal, or is the violence just random? Does this come from fear, ignorance, lack of love or supervision or just good old fashioned peer pressure? These are questions I believe we need answers for. That is why I am going to ask. I am in quite a state over the condition of these children and need ask: what has happened to the children of this country?
I ask because our President needs our help to get this country back on its feet. For anything to stand it must have a good foundation. The foundation is the heart and soul of all things; this country had a strong foundation and there have always been violence. The settlers fought for the land with the American Indian and we all know how that went. We had to overtake the British and we all know how that went. Eventually we fought the North against the South and called it “The Civil War”. That was before my time but it has never seemed civil to me. Let it be known that I do not believe any war is civil, maybe necessary, but not civil. So we end up with a lot of innocent people fighting under the orders of a few chosen men and women. They fight because they love their countries, they love their homeland whichever one it is. War comes at a price, a very big price. I am not so naïve that I think we can just live in peace but I know that every time a person dies in a war, some family grieves. Grief is universal and burying children is a heartbreak in any country, in any language or any religion all in the name of peace. War and the death it causes seem to almost be a contradiction to life and the peace all are fighting for.
Getting back to our country, America the beautiful, let us start making a plan: help me! We can start as concerned citizens and build from there. We have issues that I know we can help deal with if we organize our thoughts and efforts. I will bring you my conversations and thoughts for open discussions and we can start making plans. If we work together and start out with a small project and have our first success, we can move on from there. Let us take back our country and remember how wonderful it used to be to walk the streets safely anytime day or night. To let our children out to play without fear that someone will sweep them away or run them down or shoot them in front of their own house and we will never see them back at our dinner table. Let us start in our own neighborhoods. I have ideas, they are simple, sometimes simple is better. Did you ever hear the expression "Less is More", that is what I am going for!
Thank you for your interest, until my next post...
Sincerely, BUBBY 4 OBAMA and A Better America

WHAT IS BUBBY 4 OBAMA?
Provocative, Wise, Fresh, Honest, Humorous, Different, Heartfelt
What else would you expect from your Bubby ?
For anyone who doesn’t know what a “Bubby” is: Bubby is the word grandmother in Yiddish. Yiddish is a language very similar to German, usually written in Hebrew characters, that was spoken chiefly by Ashkenazi Jews in Eastern Europe and the places to which those Jews migrated.
I am the Bubby to three wonderful boys. They range in age from four to eighteen. The youngest will start school and the eldest will start college in the fall of this year.
What next ?

~~~ So from that came this ~~~
November 1, 2008
Hello Obama Supporters;
Every year for about the last thirty a very dear friend of mine hosts the “Largest” Halloween Party in Philadelphia with live music, dancing, food and fun. The ballroom fills with extraordinary people - gay, straight, or pan-sexual. With an atmosphere of creativity and fun my dear friend and local celebrity-host HENRI DAVID starts the costume parade at the stroke of midnight.
Ever year on the invitation there are the same words:
“Don’t come as you are. Come as you want to be”!
Well this year I wanted to be
“Bubby for Obama”!
For the first time in my adult life I have become involved in a political campaign. Why? Because I am not only a proud American woman, a proud parent, but a very proud grandparent, I am a “BUBBY”.
I come from Pennsylvania, West of Philadelphia, Chester County to be exact, in the past it has been a very old Republican base. I have made a strong personal effort, along with many others in my area, hoping that is all about to change. We must win “Pennsylvania for OBAMA”. I have made phone calls, knocked on doors, talked to everyone in the supermarket, dry cleaners, everywhere I go.
Having three grandsons I have, for the first time, viewed an election differently, asking myself one simple question: what do I want for their future, not mine? The answer: not McCain and surely not Palin!
I have lived with many Presidents, Senator McCain would just be another.
Senator Barak H. Obama will be a different type of President. He can lead this country into the 21st century. The United States of America is the Greatest Country there is but these are new times, different times. We must look to new ideas and young, bright, aggressive minds.
Let us remember the days of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s when, no matter where you lived, you had a safe neighborhood. Our schools were free and our education was good. For us to have that again we need to join hands and behave as friends, neighbors and community. We need to support our communities, each other, our children, and get involved and demand our government start and continue to work with us and for us. It will take all of us, a country united, not divided. This will not happen in a day, week, month or year but it can happen with the right leadership.
Please, for your children, grandchildren, parents and your own future well being: “VOTE OBAMA”
I was sorry that I missed Governor Ed Rendell when he stopped at the party or he would be in my picture with me, he was there.
That is how it all started !
Now it shall continue !
